Det Nya Riket: Skildringar från attentatens och jubelfesternas tidevarv
"Det Nya Riket: Skildringar från attentatens och jubelfesternas tidevarv" by August Strindberg is a satirical book published in 1882. The work attacks official Sweden, portraying a society ruled by frauds who protect one another. Strindberg mocks empty rhetoric at parliamentary debates, railway inaugurations, and academic ceremonies, contrasting his targets' public personas with their private lives. The scandal-provoking satire earned him accusations of insanity in the press.
